Kassie Scott is beginning the second year of her young coaching career, and her first year at Bethel College. Scott previously coached at Cobre High School in Bayard, New Mexico, where she was a Varsity assistant and Head J.V. Women's basketball coach.
Prior to coaching, in 2008 Kassie received a Full-Ride Athletic Scholarship to Howard Junior College in Big Spring, Texas. Scott later transferred to Western New Mexico University, a Division II member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. As a two-year scholarship athlete, Scott started at shooting guard both years and finished with a total 576 career points. Kassie was also a recipient of the Rhodes Academic Scholarship from the College of Education, where she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and an Endorsement in Reading.
Kassie is originally from El Paso, Texas where she was an accomplished 4 year Varsity athlete at Coronado High School and received 1-5A City-Honors, District Honors, and Offensive MVP. Kassie comes from a background of Educators, athletes, and avid basketball lovers. Parents, Richard and Stella Scott, have four children, Kimberly, Kelly, Kassie (third oldest) and Kenneth. Kassie's pride and joy also include her two nephews, Chad Paul (7) and Nixon Kaimana' Aloha' Okalani (1) and niece, Everleigh Estelle (4).
