During the 2022 season, the OKWU Women’s team broke many records for the program. With a 22-1-1 record, the Lady Eagles advanced to the Elite 8 in the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in 43 years, being ranked as high as #6 in the nation. The team also broke records for goals scored, games won, and shutouts, marking the best season in the program’s history.

The team won both the KCAC Regular Season and the Conference Tournament for the fourth straight year, staying unbeaten in conference for four seasons straight.

During his first year at Oklahoma Wesleyan, the women’s team broke the season record for wins and achieved a ranking as high as #8 in the NAIA, the highest ever for the Eagles. The season ended with the team advancing to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament.

Ignacio also assisted the Men’s Soccer team as the Goalkeeper Coach in 2021. The team won both the KCAC Regular Season and the KCAC Tournament Championship. The Eagles advanced to the Final 8 at the NAIA National Tournament.

Milla, originally from Santiago, Chile, attended Lyon College, where he graduated with a double major in business and economics and a minor in physical education. He was a four-year starter for the Scots, earning three AMC All-Conference selections.

After college, he joined the National Premier Soccer League and, in 2017, was named the NPSL North Player of the Year.

Prior to joining the Eagles, Milla built an extensive coaching resume. Most recently, he was the Head Coach for the semi-pro club Arkansas Wolves of the National Premier Soccer League, where he reached the conference playoffs with a first-year program and was nominated for Coach of the Year.

Milla served as a Graduate Assistant at William Woods for the 2020-21 school year. Before that, he was an assistant coach at Lyon College, where the Scots set a school record for wins and earned an automatic bid to the 2019 NAIA National Tournament.
