Josh Booth

Josh Booth is entering his sixth year as the Sports Information Director at Bethel College, hired in the Summer of 2016. He is also entering his third year as the Assistant Athletic Director, appointed in the Summer of 2019.

Booth is the primary media contact, statistician, and historian for the 19 varsity sports Bethel offers while overseeing gameday operations and game management. He also oversees all aspects of the Bethel Athletics website, and social media pages.

Booth has overseen two website redesign projects during his time at Bethel. This included the redesign launched in the Fall of 2017, as well as a current project expected to be released later this summer.

Booth was named the KCAC Sports Information Director of the Year in 2018-19. This award is given out annually by a vote of the conference’s sports information directors.

Booth graduated from Bethel in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Marketing, along with a minor in Sports Management. He is currently working on a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Emporia State University. He also holds an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies from Hesston College, from which he graduated in 2014.

During his time at Bethel, Booth has grown the Thresher social media accounts to new levels. His efforts have been recognized nationally by the NAIA, as the Bethel Athletics Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts have each earned Top-10 placings in terms of yearly growth among the 225+ NAIA institutions. Booth won the NAIA-SIDA Digital Media contest in 2017-18 for guiding the growth of the Facebook account.

Booth is an active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is a member of CoSIDA’s Academic All-America committee, where his duties revolve around the promotion of the Academic All-Americans of the Year for the NAIA. He has successfully nominated the only CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in Bethel’s history (Connor Mickens, Abby Schmidt, and Jaylon Scott) with numerous other student-athletes receiving All-District recognition.

He and his wife Mattison recently welcomed their first son, Copeland, and the family resides in North Newton.
