OTTAWA, Kan. - The Bethel Volleyball team took on the Ottawa Braves Tuesday Night inside Wilson Field House on the campus of Ottawa University. The Threshers came up short against the Braves, 3-0.
The Braves jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first set. Bethel three out of the next five points behind a kill from
Bailee Alexander, a service error on Ottawa and a block from
Julie Wilhite and
Mia Loganbill. Ottawa then took control over the contest and pulled away for a 25-13 victory in set one.Â
Bethel scored the first point of set two behind another Alexander kill. After a Braves point,
Kaitlyn Shima added a kill to give the Threshers an early 2-1 lead. With the score 4-3 in favor of the Braves, Ottawa blew the game open with a 10-0 run. Ottawa then continued to command the game as they took set two with a score of 25-11.
Jordan Boone opened up the third set with a kill followed by an Ottawa error to give the Threshers a 2-0 lead. The Braves then got hot again as they took control of the set and pulled away to take the set 25-10 and the match 3-0.
Kaitlyn Shima led the Threshers with 4 kills in the contest.
Julie Wilhite racked up 4 blocks in the Thresher loss, while
Katey Wilhelm led both sides in digs with 12.
Bethel will be back in action on Saturday, October 16th as head to Lindsborg, Kan. to take on the Bethany Swedes with first serve slated for 7:00 PM.
