NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel Thresher Men's Soccer team hosted the #2 Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles Wednesday night in Thresher Stadium. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead on their way to a 4-1 victory over the Threshers

Oklahoma Wesleyan opened up the scoring in the 4th minute when an Eagle attacker took out the remaining Thresher defender leaving another Eagle player one-on-one with the keeper from just inside the box.

OKWU used great passing up the far side of the field to get the ball in the corner before the ball was crossed into the box and put into the back of the net to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead.

One minute later, Oklahoma Wesleyan was awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box. They would utilize that to take a 3-0 lead late in the first half.Â

Oklahoma Wesleyan added their fourth goal after a corner kick to take a 4-0 lead.Â

Lucas Pardo received a long ball from
Muhamed Jammeh and outran an Eagle defender to the ball before chipping the ball over the keeper and into the net cutting the OKWU lead down to 4-1, the eventual final.Â

The Threshers will be back on the pitch on Saturday, October 16th as they travel to take on the Ottawa Braves at 2:30 PM.
