NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Football team played their final home contest of the season Saturday afternoon against the Tabor Bluejays. Before the contest, the Threshers honored the 12 seniors that are leaving the program after this season. Bethel led wire to wire in their 49-21 victory in the "Mennobowl".
Chantz Scurry led the Threshers in the first half rushing for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Tanner Galliart had a 35-yard touchdown reception from
DJ Ciers.
Camryn Harrison scored the final Bethel touchdown of the opening half on a 5-yard run.
After taking a 28-0 lead into the intermission, the Threshers picked right up where they left off in the first half. Scurry ran for his third touchdown of the contest on a 4-yard scamper.
Mario Quintero punched in a 13-yard run to give the Threshers a 42-0 lead with 8:56 remaining in the third quarter.
The Bluejays scored the next three touchdowns of the contest to cut the Bethel lead to 42-21 just into the fourth quarter. Senior
Landon Barnes put the game away for the Threshers with a 3-yard touchdown run halfway through the final period to cap the scoring for the contest.
Chantz Scurry ran for 188 yards on 28 touches recording 3 touchdowns.
Kayden Christiansen ran for 88 yards on 5 attempts as the Threshers second-leading rusher.
Tanner Galliart led the receivers with 2 receptions for 43-yards and a touchdown.
The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, November 6th as they travel to Saint Mary to close out KCAC play with kick-off set for 1:00 PM.
