MCPHERSON, Kan. - The Bethel Thresher Women's Soccer team took on McPherson College on Wednesday evening. The contest needed two extra periods for a decision to be made, neither team found success in those extra periods as the contest finished in a tie, 2-2.
Claire Hedlund found the net for her 8th goal of the season to get the scoring started in the 30th minute. Hedlund took a shot from left of the goal that deflected off of the McPherson goalkeeper and into the net.
The Bulldogs tied the contest just three minutes later when their forward took a shot from 30 yards out that went over the head of the Thresher keeper.

In desperation time for the Threshers, Hedlund received a beautiful through ball from
Jadin Kaltenbach up the left side. Hedlund then found
Grace Anderson in the middle of the field where Anderson took one touch to boot the ball into the lower left corner beating the keeper and tying the contest 2-2 in the 89th minute.
Neither team was able to separate themselves in the two extra periods as the contest finished in a 2-2 tie.
Victoria Esquivel finished the game with 8 saves for the Threshers.
Bethel will be back on the pitch this Saturday, Oct. 9th at 5:00 PM as they host the Southwestern Moundbuilders inside Thresher Stadium.
