MCPHERSON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team capped off their three game road trip Monday night in McPherson against the Bulldogs. Bethel struggled to keep the Bulldogs off of the offensive glass as they gave up 25 offensive rebounds in the 78-62 loss.
The Threshers started tonights contest slow as McPherson jumped out to an early 8-0 lead. After a line change by Coach Pringle Jr., Bethel went on a 6-0 run to trail by just two behind a spark from
Zayda Perez and
Josie Stupey. After McPherson built their lead back up to six points, the Threshers closed out the opening quarter strong to trail by just a point, 19-18. McPherson was able to build their lead back up in the second quarter as they led by nine at the intermission, 38-29.
Bethel was able to hang around in the third quarter despite trailing by double-digits halfway through to enter the final quarter of play down by just seven points. The score in the fourth quarter was not indicative to how both teams played. Despite the contest being a double-digit split most of the quarter, both teams played as though it was a one possession game until the final minutes.
