NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team returned to Thresher Gym for the first time in four games. A hot shooting first quarter saw Bethel jump out to a big lead early as they ran away with the 60-46 victory.
The Threshers came out of the gates ready to roll. They shot over 57% percent from the floor including 67% from three point range in the opening period. Bethel finished the quarter 6 of 9 from three point range with all six made three's coming from six different players. The Threshers hot shooting wasn't the only thing they did well in the opening quarter as they defended hard, allowing the Eagles to score just 8 points. The hot shooting cooled down in the second period, but the defense didn't stop as Bethel again didn't allow a double-digit quarter holding OKWU to just 9 points to take a 33-17 halftime lead.
The Third quarter was iffy for the Threshers, as it has been for most of the season. They were outscored by the Eagles 17-9 coming out of halftime as Bethel saw their 16 point lead trimmed to just 8 heading into the final frame. The Threshers picked the offense back up in the fourth quarter outscoring Oklahoma Wesleyan 18-12 on their way to a 60-46 victory.
