Volleyball Falls on Senior Day to Sterling 3-0

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel Threshers Volleyball team hosted Sterling College Saturday Afternoon for their final home contest of the season. The Warriors took all three sets from the Threshers as they spoiled Senior Day, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18.

Both teams traded runs to begin the opening set. With the Threshers leading 11-10, the Warriors took control of the contest as they went on an 8-1 run to open up an 18-12 lead. Bethel strung together a couple of strong runs themselves as they rallied back to cut the lead to 24-21, but Sterling was able to close the set out before it got any closer.

The Warriors jumped out to a 9-5 lead early in the second set and never looked back as they took the set 25-17.

The third set started very much like the opening set did with both teams trading runs and the lead. With the score tied 12-12, the warriors scored four straight to take a 16-12 lead. Bethel cut the Sterling lead to 18-16, but the Warriors answered right back with a 5-0 run on their way to closing out the set 25-18.

Mia Loganbill led Bethel with 8 kills. Meghan Brockmeier led the Threshers with 11 digs in the loss.

The Threshers will be back in action next week in the KCAC Conference Tournament with the bracket set to be released early next week. Check back to BethelThreshers.com at a later date for a game update.
