Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Six Threshers Score Double Figures in 87-72 Victory Over Sterling

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team hosted the Sterling College Warriors for their final home contest before the holiday break. Despite a slow first half, the Threshers were able to turn it on in the second half with six players scoring in double figures as they beat the Warriors 87-72.

The Threshers came out of the gates slow as the Warriors knocked down four threes on their first six possessions. Trailing by four, 12-8, the Threshers went on a 14-2 run building up an 8 point lead of their own. The Warriors wouldn't go away though as both teams closed out the half strong with Sterling taking a one point advantage into the lockerroom.

Bethel came out of the break looking to get their All-American forward, Jaylon Scott, involved offensively. Scott who didn't attempt a single shot in the opening half scored the Threshers first five points of the second half including a layup that took the lead for good. From the 18:28 mark in the second half, it was all Threshers as they quickly built up a double-digit lead that swelled to as much as 23 points before the Threshers emptied their bench.
