NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Thresher Volleyball team hosted a triangular with MidAmerica Christian and Sterling on Wednesday evening. The Threshers would go one and one in their two contest, while MACU would defeat Sterling in the middle contest.

Bethel would open up the triangular against the MidAmerica Christian Evangels.
Mia Loganbill and
Jordan Boone would lead the way for the Thresher attack in the 3-1 loss with ten kills apiece. Katey Wilhlem would lead the Threshers with 14 digs, while also leading in aces with 4.
Kaitlyn Shima would lead Bethel with 20 assists.Â

In the night cap, the Threshers would defeat the Warriors in three straight sets. After a dominant first set, the Threshers would need to come from behind in the next two to complete the sweep. After taking the first set 25-16, Bethel would find themselves trailing by as much as 7 points early in the second set. With Wilhelm serving, the Threshers would go on a tear to tie the contest at 15-15. Both teams would trade points from there on, before Boone would seal the set with a solo block giving the Threshers a 30-28 victory.
Neither team would gain much separation early in the third set until the Warriors built up a 4-point lead 18-14. Trailing 23-20, the Threshers would rattle off four straight points that would force a Warriors timeout after a big time block from
Julie Wilhite and
Mia Loganbill. With a Bethel set point 24-23,
Kaitlyn Shima would finish off Sterling with a kill that would land before the ten-foot line.

Loganbill would once again lead the attack for the Threshers with 14 kills. Shima and
Mia Roman would both finish with 16 assists, while Wilhelm would finish with 17 digs.Â

The Threshers will now hit the road for their next two matches as they open up KCAC play at Friends on Wednesday, Sept. 22nd and travel to Alva, Okla. to take on the Rangers of NWOSU on Saturday, Sept. 25th in an exhibition match.
