WICHITA, Kan. - The Bethel Volleyball team took on Friends University inside the Garvey Center on Wednesday evening. The Threshers would fall to the Falcons in three sets, 25-14, 25-15 and 25-7.
After Bethel would score the first point in the first set, Friends would take the next three and not look back as they would slowly pull away from the Threshers on their way to taking the set 25-14.
In the second set, the Falcons would jump out to a five point advantage from the get go. The Threshers would take a timeout trailing 11-3. Bethel would come out of the timeout fighting as they would rattle off five straight points to force a Falcon timeout at 11-8. The Threshers would score one more point following the Friends timeout, but the Falcons would pull away late in the set as they would take set two, 25-15.
The third set would start similar to the second, but Friends would start out scoring eight straight points. After Bethel would take a timeout, the Threshers would score the next two points before the Falcons would take off again as they would take set three, 25-7.
Mia Loganbill would lead the Thresher offense with 6 kills.
Katey Wilhelm would lead the team with 12 digs.
Bethel will be back in action on Saturday, September 25th as they take on Northwestern Oklahoma State in an exhibition match starting at 1:00 PM.
