NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel Women's Soccer team would continue their home stand Thursday evening against the Stephens Stars. The Threshers would hold on after giving up two late goals to take the contest 4-3. 
 
Sydney Brown (Katy Ponce) would get the scoring started with a 7th-minute goal. With 12 seconds left in the first half, the Stars would answer back with a goal of their own making the score 1-1 heading into the intermission. 
 
Bethel would respond almost immediately in the second half as  Grace Anderson (Ponce) would score a goal of her own to make the score 2-1 for the Threshers. Anderson's good night would keep going as she would assist Claire Hedlund's 62nd-minute goal and score another goal assisted by Ponce in the 70th minute to put Bethel up 4-1. 
 
Stephens would cut into the Thresher lead in the 77th-minute. The Stars would make things interesting late in the game as they would score an 89th-minute goal and continue to put pressure on the Bethel defense. The Defense would hold firm in the final minute to secure the 4-3 victory. 
 
The Threshers will continue their home stand on Sunday, September 19th at 1:00 PM as they open up KCAC play against York College.
