NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel Thresher Women's Soccer team opened up KCAC Conference play this afternoon against York College. The Threshers would steamroll past the Panthers behind a three-goal performance by
Claire Hedlund.
Hedlund would score the first goal of the contest in the 66th minute when she would dance around the defenders and blast a ball past the Panther goalkeeper.
Thirteen minutes later, Hedlund would do it again to extend the Bethel lead.
Sydney Brown would set up this goal with some fancy footwork in the box before passing the ball to
Katy Ponce. Ponce would pass to Hedlund who would be faced with a wide-open net.
Hedlund's third goal of the contest would come just seven minutes later when
Taylor Dashney would pass a ball into the box from the half field line that would find Claire. Hedlund would then beat one defender and the goalkeeper on her way to finishing off her hat-trick and giving Bethel the 3-0 victory.
The Threshers will be back in action on Wednesday, September 22nd when they travel to Avila for a 3:00 PM kick-off.
