KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team hit the road as they took on the Avila Eagles looking to extend their winning streak to nine straight contests. The Threshers took a five point lead into the break before pulling away from the Eagles in the second half for a 74-58Â victory.
Clifford Byrd II had a stellar opening 20 minutes for the Threshers with 17 points on 7 of 12 shooting to lead all scorers. Bethel never trailed in the opening half and led by as much as 12 points.Â
The Eagles came out of the intermission ready to play, they were able to cut into the Thresher lead and tie the contest up around the 15 minute mark. After Bethel took the lead back, Avila tied the contest one more time before the Threshers took over for good. Using a 9-0 run, BC built their lead back up to double-digits quickly, eventually leading by as much as 23 points after a
Miki Zewge three point basket.
