WICHITA, Kan. - Both Bethel College Track and Fields teams took back to the campus of Wichita State to participate in the Shocker Prelude Thursday.
Arran Kearney had the best result for the Threshers winning the men's 3000M.
The Thresher women long jumpers put together a strong showing with freshman
Karsen Dunham finishing in second place with a distance of 16'1.75", a Bethel school record.
Stephany Meyer finished 3rd in the long jump with a distance of 16'0.25", also above the previous school record.
Sebastian Formento finished the men's long jump with a distance of 17'8.75" to finish in 4th place.
Kalyn Corley finished 4th in the women's weight throw with a distance of 44'9.50".Â
Dunham kept her collegiate debut going strong with a 3rd place finish in the triple jump recording a distance of 35'3". Meyer finished in 5th place with a distance of 34'6.25".
Aubry Grame was the lone Thresher to run in the women's 60M hurdles, she finished 5th with a time of 9.92, setting a new PR and breaking a school record that she previously held.
Laiya Palmer competed in the women's 60M where she ran a time of 7.90 to put her in 4th place.
Natalie Graber and
Mauro Arancibia Campos ran in the 1 mile. Graber finished the race in 3rd with a time of 5:56.38. Arancibia Campos finished the men's race in 4th with a time of 4:35.77.Â
Graber also ran in the women's 800M where she ran a time of 2:49.75 giving her a 2nd place finish.
Isaiah Bartel also finished 2nd in the 800M with a time of 2:01.32.
Mia Roman ran a 28.94 in the women's 200M finishing in 12th place.Â
Charles Walker, also running in the 200M, ran a time of 24.76 to finish in 7th place.Â
Arran Kearney ran the men's 3000M in setting a new school record with his time of 9:11.69, a time good enough for 1st place, Bethel's highest place of the day.
Andrew Graber finished 3rd with a time of 10:22.85,
Carter Funk finished 4th with a time of 11;39.69 and
Robbie Crager finished 5th with a time of 11:45.16.Â
The Thresher women 4x400M team was the lone crew to run in the competition, they finished with a time of 4:27.33.
Bethel will be back on the track on January 22nd when they travel to Topeka, Kan. for the Washburn All Kansas Invite.
