NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team looked to extend their winning streak to eleven straight games as they took on the York Panthers. The Threshers were able to hold on late for a 68-62 victory.
The first 10 minutes of the first half were a back and forth affair as there were 5 lead changes and 1 tie. The Threshers took the lead back with just under 11 minutes left in the opening half and took it into halftime, 30-21.
Tavaughn Flowers had 8 points to lead the Threshers in the opening half.
York started the second half slowly chipping away at the Bethel lead. They were able to tie the contest up seven minutes into the final 20 minutes of regulation eventually taking the lead.
Jaylon Scott was just too much for the Panthers to handle down the stretch as he scored 13 points in the final 9 minutes and was able to get to the rim at will.
