NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team played the final contest in their three game home stand on Monday evening when they hosted the McPherson College Bulldogs. After being tied at the half, the Threshers fell behind in the third quarter and couldn't quite catch back up as they fell to the Bulldogs 65-54. 

The Threshers started off the game taking a three point lead after their first possession. Both teams would trade leads until halfway through the quarter when McPherson built up their lead to 6. The second quarter was a low scoring affair that saw the Threshers outscore the Bulldogs by six, 13-7, to tie the contest at 23 all heading into the break.

McPherson came out of the break and made up for their low scoring second quarter as they put up 23 points to take a 46-37 lead into the final 10 minutes of regulation. Bethel was able to get the lead down to 5 points multiple times early in the closing quarter, but couldn't get it any closer as McPherson held on for the 11 point victory.

Alex Bearup finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.

The Threshers lost the points in the paint battle 24-18.

Bethel finished the game with 4 steals and 4 blocks in the loss.

Bethel gave up over 50 rebounds to McPherson for the second time this season, while pulling in just 34 themselves.
