NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Soccer team hosted the Ottawa Braves as they continued KCAC play. Bethel took the early 2-0 lead but was unable to hold off the Braves in the second half as they match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Sydney Brown opened up the scoring for the contest in the 28th minute after a ball rattled around the box before landing at her feet.
Just over two minutes later Brown took a corner kick that found
Abby Edson in the box. Edson found the back of the net with her head to put Bethel up 2-0 at the intermission.
The Braves got on the board just over three minutes into the second half as they cut the Thresher lead to one, 2-1.
In the 70th minute, Ottawa evened the contest at 2.Â
Both teams had ample opportunities in the final 20 minutes, but neither were able to capitalize on the chances.
Bethel out-shot Ottawa 16(6) to 8(4).
The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, October 15th as they take on Kansas Wesleyan in Salina at 5:30 PM.
