SALINA, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team took on the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes as they continued their road trip to begin the 2022-23 campaign. The Threshers fell behind early, but took the lead midway through the opening half. The Coyotes took the lead back with just minutes to go in the opening twenty and never trailed in the second half as they took the 77-58 victory.
Kansas Wesleyan opened up the contest scoring ten of the first 11 points, the Threshers lone points came from a
Carmelo Yakubu free throw. Bethel rallied back with a 12-3 run to tie the contest with six points from
Nick Bonner. Both teams traded baskets and leads with KWU taking the final lead into the intermission 32-27.
Harper Jonas scored the first two baskets of the second half to cut the Coyotes' lead to just one point, 32-31. Kansas Wesleyan put together a 21-5 run over a six minute span to take a 64-43 advantage with eight minutes left in the contest. Kansas Wesleyan controlled the rest of the contest as they took the match up 77-58.Â
