SALINA, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team hit the road for the final time in the regular season for the 2021-22 campaign as they took on the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes. The Threshers never trailed after the eighteen minute mark in the opening half as they went on to take an 85-74.
After trailing 5-4 early in the contest, Bethel took control.
Jaylon Scott was able to get his teammates involved early before taking over to close out the half. The Threshers finished the opening half on a 19-10 led by Scott who had 11 of the 19 points for Bethel. The Threshers shot 50% from the floor and 41.7% from three in the opening half while holding the Coyotes to 40% from the floor and 30% from three point range.
Bethel was able to keep their lead around the 16 point mark early on in the closing half, but Kansas Wesleyan wasn't ready to have their senior night spoiled quite yet as they rallied back to cut Bethel's lead down to as low as 7 points halfway through the final 20 minutes. The Threshers were able to knock down free throws and hold on to the ball late in the contest as they held on for the 11 point victory, 85-74.Â
