WINFIELD, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team hit the road for the first of two road games this week on Thursday as they took on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders. The Threshers shot 60% from three point range on their way to a 84-48 victory.
In a game that was pushed back 24 hours due to winter weather, the Threshers were able to start the contest on fire. They jumped out to a 7-0 lead early in the first half and shot over 75% from three point range in the opening 10 minutes. Bethel was outscored in the second quarter by Southwestern by two points despite shooting 60% from three point range. The Threshers took an 8 point lead into the intermission behind 12 points from
Alex Bearup and 10 from
Josie Stupey.
Bethel picked up right where they left off in the first half after the break. The Threshers doubled up the Moundbuilders in the third quarter 22-11 to expand their lead to 19. In the fourth quarter, Bethel pulled away even more outscoring Southwestern 24-7 on their way to an 84-48 win on the road.
