NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel Thresher track and field teams hosted the Bethel Open on Saturday morning at Thresher Stadium. The Thresher women finished in 2nd place out of 8 teams.
Karsen Dunham finished second in the long jump with a distance of 5.19m while
Stephany Meyer finished third with a distance of 4.94m.
In the triple jump, Dunham and Meyer finished second and third again. Dunham recorded a distance of 10.84m while Meyer recorded a 10.48m distance.
Kalyn Corley won the hammer throw with a distance of 40.9m.
Lena Driscoll finished third in the shot put with a distance of of 10.85m while Corley finished sixth with a distance of 10.09m.
In the javelin, Corley finished fourth with a distance of 25.73m.
Mia Roman was the lone high jumper. She just needed to clear the first bar for the first place finish.
Natalie Graber ran the 1500 meter in 5:21.43 to finish sixth.
Alexandra Mendoza ran the 100m hurdles in 18.03 to finish fourth.
In the 400m, Roman finished third with a time of 1:02.28. Meyer ran a 1:02.77 for fourth while Mendoza ran a 1:07.85 for sixth place.
Laiya Palmer ran the 100m in 12.64 to finish 5th.
Palmer also ran in the 200m finishing fourth with a time of 26.47. Dunham ran a 28.33 for tenth while Roman ran a 28.35 for eleventh.
In the 3000m, Graber ran a 12:02.43 for second place.
The 4x400 relay finished third with a time of 4:19.13.
The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, March 26th as they participate in the Jinx Open hosted by Southwestern College.
