STERLING, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Tennis team took on Sterling for game two of their three game road trip. The Threshers won the doubles point before taking five of the six singles matches to take a 6-1 victory.
Daniela Herrera and
Fatima Nemi continued their tear at #1 singles as they defeated the Warrior pair 6-2.
Halle Krehbiel and
Nalea Payton won at #2 doubles 6-4 to secure the point.
Jenna Mahoney and
Karik Elliott fell 6-3 at #3 doubles.
Herrera won her first set 6-3 and had to work a little harder for the second set victory as she won 7-5. Krehbiel at #2 singles won her first set 7-5 before taking care of her opponent 6-2 in set two. Nemi won her match with a pair of 6-0 sets. Payton, at #4 singles, won with a 6-1 set one victory and a 6-3 set two victory. Mahoney won with a pair of 6-1 sets.
Julia Sherman, playing #6 singles, lost her match 6-3, 6-2.
The Threshers will be back on the court on Monday afternoon as they take on the Bulldogs in McPherson with first serve set for 3:30 PM.
