Box Score NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Tennis team hosted the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes on Thursday afternoon at Ward Tennis Center. The Threshers won the doubles point before dropping five of the six singles matches as the Coyotes took the contest 5-2.
Michael Cech and
Milan Bucek got back on the court together following Cech missing the previous contest and the duo picked up right where they left off as they won their doubles match 6-2.
Tomas Quercia and
Joaquin Pluis picked up the second doubles win for the Threshers at the #3 position 6-0 ot give Bethel the early 1-0 advantage.
Cech dropped his match at the #1 position 6-3, 6-4. Bucek dropped his match in two sets as well with his second set ending in a tiebreaker 6-2, 7-6(3). At #3 singles,
Nolan Schrader went three sets with his opponent. After winning the first set 6-3, he dropped two consecutive sets 6-3 and 6-2. Quercia fell at the #4 position in a pair of 6-3 sets. Pluis picked up the lone singles win for the Threshers with a 7-5, 6-0 victory.
Jordan Singh fell at #6 singles 6-1 and 6-3.
The Threshers will be back on the court on Saturday, April 16th at 1:00 PM as they take the dreaded road trip to Bartlesville, Okla. with first serve scheduled for 1:00 PM.
