NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Track and Field team hosted their second and final outdoor meet of the season. As a team the Threshers finished third out of ten teams, just four points out of first, and set school records in the 4x100m and the 3000m steeplechase.
Kalyn Corley was the Threshers lone thrower in the competition. Corley finished 2nd in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.34m, 6th in the shot put with a distance of 10.64m and 6th in the javelin with a mark of 32.05m.
Karsen Dunham finished 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 4.92m while
Stephany Meyer recorded a distance of 4.88m to finish right behind Dunham in 4th.
Mia Roman finished tied for 4th in the high jump as she cleared the mark of 1.49m.
The women's 4x100 relay crew of
Aubry Grame,
Laiya Palmer,
Mia Roman and
Stephany Meyer ran a school record time of 49.54 to finish in 1st.
Natalie Graber set the second outdoor school record for the Threshers on the day in the 3000m steeplechase where she beat the record by .84 as she ran a time of 12:31.08.
Grame and
Alexandra Mendoza both ran in the 100m hurdles. Grame finishes 5th with a time of 16.37 while Mendoza finished 7th with a time of 17.81.
Laiya Palmer ran a PR of 12.55 in the prelims to qualify for the 100m finals. In the finals Palmer turned in a time of 12.63 to win the race.
Grame and Mendoza both ran in the 400m hurdles as well. Grame ran the race in a time of 1:07.79 to finish 2nd while Mendoza ran a 1:14.28 to finish in 7th.
In the 200m Meyer ran a 26.66 to finish 6th while Roman finished 13th with a time of 27.24. Dunham ran in the race as well and finished 15th with a time of 28.54.
The Threshers ran the same crew as the 4x100m in the 4x400m as they turned in another 1st place finish with a time of 4:09.13.
Bethel will be back in action on Saturday, April 23rd as they head to a meet hosted by Tabor College.Â
