NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Tennis team hosted the Ottawa Braves as they stayed home for their second straight KCAC Conference match. After picking up the doubles points, the Threshers dropped four of the six singles matches as Ottawa took the contest 4-3.
Playing #1 doubles,
Fatima Nemi and
Daniela Herrera picked up the 7-6(10-8) victory. The #2 doubles team of
Halle Krehbiel and
Nalea Payton fell 6-2 before the Threshers won at #3 doubles due to default.Â
Herrera, playing #1 singles, fell in three sets 7-6(5-0), 3-6 and 6-4. Krehbiel played #2 singles and fell 6-1, 6-0. Nemi fell at #3 singles in three sets after winning the first set 7-5 she dopped the second two 6-0, 6-3. Payton dopped her match 6-2, 6-1.
Jenna Mahoney picked up a victory for the Threshers at #5 singles in two sets 6-0, 6-1.
Julia Sherman recorded the Threshers other singles victory as she won by default.
The Threshers will be back in action on Monday, April 4th as they make up a previously postponed match against the Tabor Bluejays at 3:00 PM in Hillsboro.
