HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Bethel College Softball team hit the road for the final time in their 2022 campaign as they took on the Tabor College Bluejays. The Threshers were unable to pick up a victory in the two game set with Tabor as they dropped game one 9-0 and game two 9-1.
GAME 1, L 9-0
The Threshers were able to put the pressure on the Bluejays early, but were unable to capitalize on the bases loaded no outs opportunity in the first. Tabor got the scoring started early with a run in the bottom of the opening frame. Following a scoreless inning on both sides in the second, Bethel once again put the pressure on Tabor by loading the bases, but were once again unable to capitalize in the third. The Bluejays strung together a few hits in the bottom half to double their lead to 2-0. The Threshers got a runner in scoring position in the fourth, but weren't able to drive her in. The Bluejays burst in the bottom half resulted in 3 runs as they took the 5-0 lead after four innings. In the top of the fifth, the Threshers were able to get runners on base and things moving, but once again never pushed anyone across the plate. Tabor put the contest away in the bottom half scoring five runs to take a 9-0 lead and enact the run rule. Bethel stranded eight runners in the contest while Tabor left just one on base.

GAME 2, L 9-1
The Bluejays took advantage of Thresher miscues in the first inning to once again take a 1-0 advantage after the opening inning. This time, Bethel was able to answer back in the following half inning as
Karlie Stephens drove in
Peyton Uznanski with an RBI groundout. With the score 1-1, it would be all Bluejays again until the fourth inning. With the score now 6-1 Bethel was able to put the pressure on Tabor by loading the bases with just an out unfortunately, the Threshers weren't able to drive any of the runners in. After Tabor pushed their lead to 9-1 after four innings. Bethel was able to get runners on second and third with just an out in the top of the fifth as they attempted to avoid the run rule, but came up empty again with two pop outs.

The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, April 23rd as they host the Ottawa Braves at Allen Wedel Field with first pitch slated for 1:00 PM.
