NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Volleyball team took part in the Hastings Classic hosted by Hastings College. The Threshers went 1-3 in the classic picking up their lone win against KCAC Conference opponent York.
Bethel opened up the tournament with 3-0 loss to Mid-America Christian. The Evangels took the three set victory 25-16, 25-18, 25-21.
Mia Loganbill led the Thresher attack with 11 kills in the contest.
Mia Roman turned in 16 assists, while libero
Katey Wilhelm recorded 18 digs.
Their second match of the tournament came against the York Panthers. The Threshers took a 3-1 victory picking up wins in the first, third and fourth sets 25-11, 26-28, 27-25, 25-23. Loganbill again led the Threshers offense with 15 kills. Roman turned in 30 assists in the contest, while
Maddie Chupp recorded 17 digs.
Day two began with a 3-1 loss to Oklahoma Panhandle State for the second time this season. The Aggies won the four set match 25-21, 21-25, 25-17, 25-23. Loganbill turned in 12 kills in the loss, while Roman turned in 21 assists. Wilhelm led the defense with 23 digs.
In their final contest of the classic, the Threshers dropped a 3-1 contest after picking up a first set win 18-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19. With 17 kills in the match Loganbill once again led the Thresher attack with Roman turning in 23 assists. Wilhelm recorded 23 digs in the loss.
The Threshers will be back in action on Tuesday, August 30th as they travel to Langston, Okla. to take on the Langston Lions at 5:00 PM.Â
