COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Bethel College women's soccer team hit the road for a non-conference matchup with the Stephens College Stars. Niether team got much of anything going in the opening 45, but Bethel turned it on in the second scoring five unanswered goals.
After a quite first half that ended nill-nill, the Threshers kicked it in gear.
Claire Hedlund got the scoring started in the 55th minute with an unassisted goal.
Taylor Dashney added to the Threshers lead with a penalty kick goal a minute later.
The Threshers wouldn't score again for 18 minutes when freshman
Ashley SaJous found the back of the net for her third goal of the season and BC's third of the contest.
Leading 3-0, Bethel continued to pour it on when
Grace Anderson scored an 88th minute goal assisted by
Katy Ponce.
Hedlund got back in the box score with a goal in the 90th minute to put an exclamation mark on the contest.
Bethel out-shot Stephens 20(15) to 5(3) in head coach
Luka Milicevic's first win with the BC Women's Soccer team.
The Threshers will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 8th as they host Oklahoma City with kick-off scheduled for 5:00 PM inside Thresher Stadium.
