NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College women's basketball team was unable to complete the fourth quarter comeback as Kansas Wesleyan held on for the 70-62 victory.
Bethel held onto a two point, 16-14 lead after the first ten minutes of play.
Josie Stupey was a perfect 3 for 3 from the floor to lead all scorers with 7 points.Â
The Coyotes jumped on the Threshers in the second half outscoring them 21-7 to take a 35-23 lead into the intermission.Â
Both teams shot identical percentages in the third quarter as they shot 33.3% from the floor and 80% from free throw line. The difference in the quarter came at the three point line where KWU knocked home two and BC was 0 for 2.Â
Trailing 51-37 entering the fourth quarter, Bethel made a run at a comeback.

Jasmine Peete combined for 21 of the Threshers 25 points in the quarter as they went 8 for 10 from the floor.Â

Eight Threshers scored in the loss led by Stupey who had a game high 18 points, scoring just two points in the fourth. Yoder scored 11 of her 17 points in the final 10 minutes.

Bethel lost the battle of the boards pulling in 29 to the Coyotes' 51.Â
The Threshers won the points in the paint battle 36-32.
Bethel won the turnover battle 17-19, had more points off of turnovers 20-13.
KWU's bench outscored Bethel's 36-17 in the loss.
