Cold shooting downs Bethel at home

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team had one of their coldest shooting nights of the season against the Avila Eagles as they fell 60-53.

The first quarter was Bethel's best shooting quarter of the contest as they shot over 36% from the floor and came away with a five point, 17-12 lead after the first 10 minutes of play. Jaycee Freshour was a perfect 2 for 2 from the floor, including 1 of 1 from deep to lead all scorers in the first quarter with five points.

The Eagles put together a 12-0 run in the third quarter to build up an 11 point lead with two and a half minutes left. Bethel was able to cut the lead down to seven heading into the fourth quarter keeping the game within reach.
