NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team struggled on the backboards against the Braves allowing 21 offensive boards in the 83-76 defeat on Saturday.
The first quarter was a high scoring affair that saw Bethel shoot 60% from the floor as they took a one point advantage.
Another high volume scoring quarter came in the second when Bethel shot over 62% from three point range knocking down 5 of their 8 attempts led by
Brianna Clark who was 2 of 2 including a buzzer beating shot that sent Bethel into the locker room up by three 43-40.
The Threshers cooled off in the third quarter as they scored just 11 points while making a third of their shots. Fortunately for them, the Braves weren't able to pull away too far as they held just a five point lead heading into the final frame.
Both teams shooting percentages jumped back up in the final frame as they each shot over 47% from the floor. Ottawa was able to build their lead up to as much as 16 in the quarter, but the Threshers never gave up. Bethel was able to cut the game down to a two possession game with 30 seconds left, but the Braves made their free throws doesn the stretch to ice the contest.

Bethel was out rebounded by 17, 44-27. Ottawa pulled in 21 offensive rebounds in the contest.

Ten Threshers scored in the loss led by
Troi Lucas who finished with 22 points.
Caryn Yoder was the other lone Thresher to score in double figures with 14 points.
The points in the paint battle saw an advantage in favor of the Braves of 38-26.
Bethel finished with three less turnovers than Ottawa, but one less point off of turnovers.
