NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - After taking the early advantage, the Bethel College men's soccer team took down the Tabor Bluejays 3-2.

Mussawir Ahmed got the scoring started for the contest in the third minute when he received a great ball from
Filip Maksimovic and beat the keeper.

Twenty-seven minutes later,
Louis Etienne doubled the Threshers' lead after being on the receiving end of a brilliant ball from
Mihajlo Jankovic.

Two minutes later, Tabor cut the lead down to one.
Â
Playing down a man following a second yellow card on
Sean Holness, Bethel's keeper, the game remained 2-1 for 21 minutes before Maksimovic broke away from the Bluejay defense to put the Threshers back up by two, 3-1.

Tabor made things interesting in the 83rd minute when they rebounded a shot off the post, finding the back of the net the second time.
True freshman keeper,
Mason Bolen, stepped up tremendously for the Threshers in the absence of Holness.

Bethel was outshot by Tabor in the victory 11 to 8. However, the Threshers recorded more shots on goal than the Bluejays 5 to 4

The Threshers will be back in action on Saturday, October 14th as they host the Ottawa Braves on Fall Fest with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 PM.
