HILLSBORO, Kan. - With a straight-set sweep of Tabor College, the Bethel College volleyball team stretched their winning streak to 14 games.
After falling behind in the opening set, the Threshers rallied back by using a 17-4 run to take the set 25-14. Bethel won the second set 25-17 before finishing off the Bluejays 25-21.
A trio of Threshers finished with five or more kills in the victory led by
Kylah Carter with a game-high 11 kills.
Darla Crow finished with 8 kills, while
Cameron Offerle finished with 7 kills.Â
Kaitlyn Shima contiuned to command the Thresher offense as she led the team in assists with 15.
Bethel's front row continued to be a force defensively as four player had three or more blocks, led by Crow with five. Carter and
Jordan Boone each record four, while
Alayna Vines had three.
Katey Wilhelm and
Brooke Russell held anchored the back row for the Threshers as Wilhlem recorded 15 digs and Russell 11 digs.
Bethel recorded the games only two aces from Shima and Wilhelm.
The Threshers held the Tabor attack to a bismal .053 hitting percentage in the victory.
Bethel has a bye this Saturday and will be back in action on October 18th as they host RV Kansas Wesleyan at Thresher Gym with first serve scheduled for 7:00 PM.
