FULTON, Mo. - In their season opener, the Bethel College men's basketball team fell to William Woods 97-63.
Nick Bonner carried the load offensively for the Threshers in the first half scoring 14 points on 3 of 4 shooting including a perfect 1 for 1 from deep.
Despite the Threshers shooting 43.5% from the floor in the opening half, they trailed the Owls 49-32 at the break.
Bonner continued his hot shooting in the second half as he went 2 for 2 from the field and the charity stripe, scoring six points.
Jalyn Todd led the way with 7 points in the final 20 minutes as Bethel fell 97-63.
The Threshers only 20 point scorer, Bonner finished shooting 5 of 6 from the floor, one of one from deep while making 9 of his 11 free throws.
Bethel had two other double-digit scorers as
Keyaun Hoskin finished with 12 points and Todd had 11 in the loss.
The Threshers will be back in action on Friday, November 3rd as they continue their road trip to begin the season in Olathe, Kan. as they take on the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers at 7:30 PM.
