Men's Basketball drops overtime battle with No. 17 MidAmerica Nazarene

OLATHE, Kan. - In what may turn out to be one of the best contests of the season, the Bethel College men's basketball team came up just short of upsetting the No. 17 MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers on their home floor.

The first half was a  closely contested ball game as neither team led by more than six points. The Threshers shot nearly 49% from the floor in the opening 20 minutes while holding the Pioneers to just 41% shooting from the floor. Despite going 0-4 from the charity stripe, Bethel used the deep ball to remain in the contest as they knocked home six in the first half.

Keyaun Hoskin broke out in the second half scoring 23 of his team high 33 points in the second half. Hoskin helped bring the Threshers back from down eight with under nine minutes left in regulation. Bethel held on to a four point lead with under one minute left to play, but allowed the Pioneers to score the final four points of regulation tying the contest at 85-85 after 40 minutes of play. MNU had a chance to take the lead with 0.5 left on the clock. Head Coach Jayson Artaz took his final timeout to attempt to ice the free throw shooter, a successful attempt as the free throw was missed forcing overtime.
