SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Following a scoreless first 45 minutes of action, both the Bethel College men's soccer team and Evangel University score two second half goals to end in a 2-2 draw.
Bethel took eleven first half shots to Evangels three, neither team was able to connect on any of their shots as the first 45 minutes ended scoreless.
Andrija Mitkovic broke the nill-nill tie in the 47th minute with an unassisted goal.
The Valor went on to score an equalizer and a lead taking goal in the 52nd and 66th minutes.
With just over five minutes left in the contest,
Filip Maksimovic found the back of the net for the equalizer, his 13th goal of the season. Maksimovic's goal was assisted by
Louis Etienne.Â
The second half was more evenly matched shot wise, as Bethel took nine to Evangel's eight.Â
The Threshers finished with seven shots on goal as the Valor had just four.
Bethel will be back in action on Wednesday, October 11th as they host the Tabor Bluejays, kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
