NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College women's basketball team dropped their home opener to Southwestern Christian 68-63.

Bethel found themselves down 40-24 after the opening 20 minutes as the Eagles shot over 53 percent from the floor in the opening half.

The Threshers found themselves trailing by 18 points entering the fourth quarter as they put together both their best offensive and defensive quarter of the contest. The Threshers shot over 58 percent from the field and 50 percent from three as they outscored the Eagles by 13.

Bethel was able to cut the deficit to less than double-digits with just under two minutes left, but came up short as they ran out of time.
