McPHERSON, Kan. - The Bethel College women's basketball team picked up their first victory of the season in their conference opener against McPherson College 82-58, giving
Rocky Lamar his first victory as a Thresher.

Bethel jumped out to the early first quarter lead as
Josie Stupey scored five of her seven points in the frame.

The only time the Threshers trailed in the contest came in the second quarter when they were down 28-26. Bethel responded by going on a 19-7 run, taking a 45-34 lead into the intermission.

Both teams lowest scoring quarters came in the third, with Bethel winning the quarter by three.

In the fourth, Bethel continued to press the issue, running in transition. They grew their lead to as much as 26 points in the final frame.
