McPHERSON, Kan. - The Bethel College men's basketball team opened up KCAC play with a 61-57 loss to McPherson.

In a low scoring first half, the Threshers found themselves on top 26-22 thanks to eight points from
Carmelo Yakubu and seven from
Keyaun Hoskin.

With two early fouls on
Jalyn Todd,
Brayden Schilling and
Cade Kittrell gave the Threshers great minutes off of the bench.

The second half saw the Bulldogs take their first lead of the contest since the opening bucket at the 17-minute mark, 31-30.

Bethel never trailed by more than six in the final fifteen minutes, but couldn't quite get over the hump to take the lead back as they trailed for the final 17 minutes eventually falling.

The difference in this evenings contest came in the form of turnovers. The Threshers turned the ball over 24 times, while only forcing the Bulldogs into 11.
