NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - With a share of the KCAC Regular Season Championship on the line for both teams, the Bethel College volleyball team came up short as RV Oklahoma Wesleyan took the contest 3-1.
In their second straight contest against nationally recognized teams, the Threshers started slowly in the first set. Bethel hit just .030 in the opening frame recording just six kills while committing 5 attacking errors.Â
Bethel evened the match in the second set with a 25-18 victory. Bethel committed just four hitting errors in the set, while forcing the Eagles into 10.
Both teams turned in their best hitting sets of the contest in the third as Bethel hit .250 and OKWU hit .433
After Oklahoma Wesleyan took the 2-1 advantage, the Threshers kept the Eagles close before striking to tie the contest 12-12. Unfortunately for Bethel, OKWU closed out the match outscoring BC 13-5, taking the match 3-1.
The Threshers were successful in holding one of the nations best hitters in check all afternoon as they held Evelyn Rohrberg nearly 1.5 kills per set under her season average.
With the loss, Bethel dropped just their second contest in the last 20.
Prior to the contest, the Threshers celebrated their seven seniors that played in their final contest in Thresher Gym this afternoon. Those seven seniors were

Katey Wilhelm,
Harlie Hunton,
Tessa Lies and
Lauren McCreary.
With the loss, the Threshers will be the third seed in the KCAC Tournament next week and have earned a first round bye. Bethel will be back in action next Friday, November 10th in Hutchinson, Kan. for the KCAC Quarterfinals.
