GAME 2, W 6-3
Just like the first game, Briar Cliff struck in the top of the first. This time for two runs. Bethel answered by getting a run of their own in the bottom half when
Cynae Wiley reached on a bunt. Wiley was moved over with a sac bunt from
Brianna Reeves and driven in when
Taylor Sanfillippo reached on an error by the Charger shortstop. Neither team was able to push any runs across until the bottom of the fifth when Reeves hit a two-run home run to left center field to give Bethel their first lead of the day. After Briar Cliff tied it at 3 in the top of the sixth, Reeves came up big once again. With the bases loaded and two outs, Reeves smacked a ball to left field that bounced in and out of the left fielder's glove allowing all three runs to score, giving Bethel the 6-3 lead heading into the final frame. The Threshers were able to get out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the seventh to secure the 6-3 win and a split on the day.
