NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Softball team picked up wins number five and six on the season with 5-1 and 3-2 victories over Central Christian.
GAME 1, W 5-1
Neither team was able to push a run across until the bottom of the third when Bethel struck first.
Brianna Reeves slapped a ball to right center field scoring
Cynae Wiley to put BC up 1-0. Central Christian answered back in the top half of the fourth to tie the contest at one.
Ella Caudill drove in two runs with a two RBI single that put Bethel up 3-1 after four innings. The Threshers struck for a run in the bottom of the fifth and another in the bottom of the sixth and were able to hold the Tigers scoreless as they took game one of the double dip 5-1.

The Threshers once again struck first, this time in the bottom half of the second inning when
Meehlia Mendiola grounded out to the pitcher scoring Ashley Bodine. In the following half inning, the Tigers took their first lead of the evening on a two RBI double. Two innings later, Bethel rallied to take the tie the contest and eventually take the lead. Wiley smacked a double to left field and
Olivia Nava followed it up with a triple down the left field line that scooted by the left fielder making it all the way to the wall. Reeves, in the very next at bat, reached on an error by the shortstop who bobbled the ball allowing Nava to score and Reeves to reach safely. Following an out, Bethel was able to load the bases but were unable in pushing more runs across in the inning. Neither team scored in the final inning and a half as Bethel held on for the victory.

The Threshers will be back in action on Friday, March 3 as they take on Arkansas Baptist at 11:30 AM in Oklahoma City as part of the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic. They will then turn around and take on Oklahoma Science and Arts at 4:30 PM.
