STERLING, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Basketball team tried their best for an upset bid of the No. 24 ranked Sterling Warriors on the road Saturday evening. Unfortunately for the Threshers, they came up short 81-70.
After one quarter of play, Bethel trailed Sterling by eight, 22-14, despite trailing by as much as 13 at points in the quarter.
Caryn Yoder and
Jasmine Peete each had four points for Bethel in the opening frame.
The second quarter the Threshers cut into the Warriors lead by three points.
Brianna Clark led the Bethel charge scoring 8 points as BC trailed 38-33 at the intermission.
The Warriors were able to pull away in the third quarter as they built up a 20 point lead after 30 minutes of play.
Bethel outscored Sterling by nine in the final frame, making the contest competitive down the stretch. The Threshers were never quite able to get the lead under double-digits as they fell 81-70.

The Warriors shot nearly 12% better from the floor than the Threshers did.
By The Numbers
Seven Threshers scored in the loss led by
Caryn Yoder with a team high 23 points.
Two other Threshers joined Yoder in double figures as
Carley Robb added in 15 points and
Jasmine Peete added 12.
The points in the paint battle saw an advantage in favor of the Warriors of 48-22.
The battle of the glass fell in favor of the home team 30-25.
The Threshers bench outplayed the Warriors scoring 35 to Sterling's 2.
