NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Basketball team built up a double-digit lead in the first half and cruised to a 76-57 victory over Tabor.
Bethel started the contest 14-4 as they started the contest making six of their first nine shots. At the halfway mark in the first half, the Threshers held onto an 18-8 lead.
Bethel closed out the opening half on a 14-6 run to take a 39-24 lead into the intermission.
Clifford Byrd II had 11 points and
Bryant Mocaby had 10 in the first half.
The Threshers used an 18-0 run over a six and a half minute span to blow the game wide open taking a 59-31 lead.Â
Bethel pushed their lead to 30 when
Christion Whitaker knocked home a free throw with five minutes and some change left to play.
Bethel began slowly emptying their bench as the Bluejays left their starters in, cutting 11 points out of the lead in the final four minutes.
