PRATT, Kan. - Both Bethel College Outdoor Track and Field teams took part in the Beaver Classic hosted by Pratt Community College to open the 2023 season.
Three Threshers finished back-to-back-to-back in the 200m led by
Mia Roman's 4th place finish. Roman finished with a time of 29.03,
Myiah Logue finished 5th with a time of 29.29 and
Dakota Voortman finished 6th with a time of 31.08.
Trey Palmer led the way for the men in the 200m with a time of 22.92 to finish 2nd.
Corbin Unruh finished 3rd with a time of 23.17.
Julian Jackson and
Sebastian Formento finished 6th and 7th with Jackson recording a time of 25.66 and Formento 25.68.
In the 400m
Parker Schroeder finished 5th with a time of 1:08.39.
Simon Hodge ran the 800m in a time of 2:20.03 to finishe in 5th place while
Nick Morgan recorded a time of 2:32.81 to finish 10th.
Elly Bertholf finished 2nd in the 1500m with a time of 6:07.71 while
Bethany Schrag finished 3rd with a time of 6:19.09.
In the men's 1500m
Isaiah Bartel came out on top with a time of 4:24.72.
Luke Schmidt finished 3rd with a time of 4:32.24.
Matthew Fleck finished 5th with a time of 4:52.48 and
Robbie Crager finished 10th with a time of 5:22.12.
Julius McVay turned in a best mark of 12.65m in the shot put to finish 3rd.
Hayden Wallace finished right behind McVay in 4th with a mark of 12.26m.
In the discus Wallace and McVay flipped with Wallace finishing 4th with a mark of 29.07m and Mcvay finishing right behind him in 5th with a mark of 28.54m.
Wallace finished 7th in the hammer throw with a mark of 33.72m while McVay turned in a mark of 28.45m to finish 8th.
Both Thresher squads will be back in action on Saturday, March 25th for a meet hosted by Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.
