SALINA, Kan. - The Bethel College Men's Tennis team picked up a 4-1 victory over Kansas Wesleyan on Monday afternoon to remain undefeated in KCAC play this spring. The weather played a factor in the match as it force the two teams to move inside in order to be completed.
After the first doubles match was over, Bethel saw itself behind as
Michael Cech and
Petr Kollar fell 6-3.
Milan Bucek and
Tomas Quercia got the Threshers back on track for the doubles point with a 6-3 victory in #2 doubles.
Damian Rosas and
Jonah Bergeron won the doubles point for Bethel picking up a 7-5 victory.
Bucek lost his first match at #1 singles of the season falling 7-5, 6-2. Cech won his match at #2 singles 6-4, 6-1 to put BC up 2-1.
Rodrigo Sanchez played #3 singles where he won 6-1, 6-4. Kollar bounced back from his doubles loss to win 6-1, 7-5 securing the victory for the Threshers. Quercia won his first set 6-4 and was trailing 4-2 in the second when the match was called. In Rosas' match neither player was able to win a game before the contest was called due to weather.
The Threshers will be back in action on Thursday, March 30th at 11:00 as they travel to Sterling to take on the Warriors.
