NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Bethel Invite on a cold and dreary weather impacted day at Thresher Stadium. The weather played an impact early on in the meet with a light mist prior to the start. The meet incurred a weather an hour and a half long weather delay due to lightning in the area early on as well.
Trey Palmer jump 7.27m in the long jump, hitting an NAIA A standard and setting a new school record.
In the women's 100m
Dakota Voortman finished 13th with a time of 14.20.
The Threshers had 5 athletes in the men's 100m led by Palmer's 4th place finish with a time of 10.85.
Corbin Unruh finished right behind Palmer in 6th with a time of 10.86.
Sebastian Formento finished 12th with a time of 11.16.
Tre Lucas finished 26th with a time of 11.71
Julian Jackson finshed 30th with a time of 11.86.
In the women's 200m Voortman finished 9th with a time of 29.92.
Formento finished 10th in the men's 200m with a time of 23.00. Lucas finished 23rd with a time of 23.74.
Mia Roman won the women's 800m with a time of 2:29.51.
Parker Schroeder finished 4th with a time of 2:33.58.
Bethany Schrag and
Elly Bertholf finished back to back in 8th and 9th with time of 2:52.90 and 2:54.61.
Isaiah Bartel won the men's 800m with a time of 2:00.63.
Simon Hodge finished 11th with a time of 2:10.15.
Nick Morgan finished 12th wit ha time of 2:11.09.
Matthew Fleck finished 18th with a time of 2:23.09 and
Robbie Crager finished 20th with a time of 2:25.79.
Schrag and Bertholf finished back to back once again in the women's 1500m as Schrag finished 12th with a time of 5:42.80 and Bertholf 13th at 5:46.73.
Tobin Wise finished 5th in the men's 1500m with a time of 4:21.27. Fleck finished 16th with a time of 4:39.20. Crager finished 19th with a time of 4:44.68.
Aubry Grame ran the women's 100m hurdles in a time of 16.39 to finish 5th.
Grame finished 2nd in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:11.34
The women's 4x100m relay team of Grame, Schroeder, Roman and
Myiah Logue finished 1st with a time of 52.30.
The men's 4x100m relay team was DQ'd due to their second exchange.
Roman finished 6th in the women's high jump with a best mark of 1.45m.
Franklin Sampson finished tied for 2nd in the men's high jump with a best mark of 1.75m. Jared Richardson finished 6th with a mark of 1.70.
Logue turned in a career best mark of 5.47m to win the women's long jump.
Karsen Dunham finished 4th with a mark of 5.16m.
Palmer won the men's long jump after hitting the NAIA A standard with a 7.27m jump, setting a new Bethel College school record.
Logue also won the women's triple jump with a mark of 10.94m while Dunham finished 2nd with a mark of 10.35m.
Julius McVay finished 7th in the shot put with a mark of 12.17m.
Hayden Wallace finished 9th with a mark of 12.08m.
In the discus McVay finished 7th with a mark of 36.10m and Wallace finished 13th with a mark of 29.45m.
Wallace finished 8th in the men's hammer with a mark of 34.57m.
Daniel Kaufman finished 3rd in the men's javelin with a mark of 50.19m.
Both Thresher squads will be back in action on Saturday, April 22nd as they travel to Hillsboro, Kan. for a meet hosted by Tabor College.
